    antique items may show signs of age. most vintage items are pre-loved and may show minor signs of wear.

    we at Velvet & Gabardine assesses each piece and try to identify all flaws.

    A: excellent condition

    Items that have very minimal if any signs of wear at all. Typically garments have been very well preserved.

    B: very good condition

    Clothes that show normal signs of wear that are expected with age, and may have some minor visible problems that have been specified.

    C: acceptable

    Items that show obvious signs of wear, but are overall intact. Any condition issues have been specified.

    D: wearable

    Items that have been heavily worn and may have unintentional distressing, fading, holes, or stains. we do not sell D condition items, but may give them away as bonus items during seasonal events.

    antique garments

    Velvet & Gabardine considers clothes from the 1960s and earlier to be antique. These items are difficult to acquire in A condition.

    vintage garments

    We consider clothes from the 1970s through the early 2000s to be vintage.

    contemporary garments

    Our buyer considers clothes from 2010 to the present to be contemporary. These garments are easily found in A condition.
